Program Director
v2.24.0

Introducing The Music Section

Week of:
December 22, 2023

The Super Hi-Fi team has been working diligently to finalize and release our year-end version of Program Director. We've been paying attention to your feedback and are very excited to introduce this latest update, packed with tons of new features and functionality!

In this version you'll discover The Music Section, giving you complete access to your music catalog. It includes audio insights and other useful information about each track within your music library.

The Music Section

Catalog: The Catalog Section holds all of your music tracks processed through our Prism audio analysis pipeline. You can easily queue up any track for playback, view track details, album art, "Explicit" status, and discover audio insights from the Prism analysis.

Mixed-Catalog Support: We are totally psyched to share that we now support Mixed-Catalog functionality. If you are currently using, or would like to supplement your own catalog with a music service, such as I Like Music, Deezer or Napster, you can now use both to broaden the selection of your music library.  Tracks from the music service will be marked with a small logo, making it easy to distinguish them from your own music.

Prism: The audio pipeline ingestion analysis collects unique audio features for all tracks processed by Super Hi-Fi systems.

  • The feature collection provides our various AIs and Decision Engines with a deep understanding of the music and content under their control to be used in playback.
  • You can view the analysis by hovering over the "P" badge on any track and clicking on it.
  • The Prism view is accessible in all Program Director sections where tracks are located.

Explicit: Welcome to a new fast and efficient means of marking the “Explicit” and “Clean” statuses of your tracks all throughout the platform.

  • If your music catalog metadata contains “Explicit” attributes, upon upload and analysis a dotted “E” Explicit badge will appear within the UI indicating “Unconfirmed Explicit”.
  • Tracks without an “Explicit” attribute will display a dotted “C”, “Unconfirmed Clean”.
  • To confirm or override the “Explicit or Clean” status of a track, click on the “C” or “E” badge and make your update.
  • This functionality is available all throughout Program Director anywhere tracks are located, including the player in the bottom tray.

Track Details Page: Clicking into the Track Details Page in the Catalog view provides details like the Track, Artist, and Album IDs, as well as information about any duplicate tracks in your catalog.

Release Notes:

Platform

Deep Linking:

We've made some handy changes to the Stream Log page to help you navigate more easily and save time when managing your Station.

  • Track Title: Takes you to the Track Details Page (Catalog Section)
  • Content Title: Takes you to the Content Details Page (Content Section)
  • Source: Takes you to the Playlist Details Page (Playlists Section)
  • Station Source: Takes you to the Stations Grid view (Stations Section)

(in these cases, to navigate back to the Stream Log, click on the back button within your browser.)

Badges & Icons:

  • Updates to all badges have been made to conform to consistency across all sections, including placement, sizing and section coloring, both light and dark modes.
  • Minor updates to column headers and order now conform to general column orientation and consistency throughout every section of Program Director.
  • Tooltips have been added to all badging and iconography to better inform you of what functionality each icon provides for you.

When logging in for a second time, the “Two Factor Authentication” autofill tag is now supported in Safari when the 2FA code is received via SMS or email.

Users with the role “Streaming Director” have now been updated with permissions to access the Music Section, and all of the functionality described within this latest version.

Content

Updates to Search:

  • Underscores have been split out from search results allowing you to more easily obtain the expected results when searching by keyword.
  • When no Smart Folder names are found within a Smart Folder search result, we have added a method to quickly query the term against Recorded Content files.
  • The new “re-query” method outlined in the second bullet above appears within the primary page level search as well as the right hand side search panel.
  • You can now search by the attribute “Caption”, this attribute was previously unavailable within the search query index.
  • When searching a Smart Folder and continuing to navigate into the Smart Folder and click on the breadcrumb to go back, the previous search was kept but with the text cleared from the search field, this has been resolved to display the text.

Global Marks and Decorators are now available for all Recorded Content files within the Content section. If you are not satisfied with the audio marks on your content and Imaging files, you can now adjust these accordingly. Additionally, you are now able to add Decorators (more on Decorators here) to any Interstitials, Liners or Imaging that you have within your Content library.

When attempting to make a bulk edit using related Track, Artist, or Album, the bulk edit function would fail, the issue has been resolved no longer resulting in an error.

Programs

Adding a Show to a Station and then archiving the Show resulted in the inability to archive a Station; this has since been updated to allow the archiving of the Station.

When dragging and dropping a track into a Packet, the Artist name was not appearing until you navigated in and out, or refreshed the page - we have fixed this issue and now displays the Artist name as expected.

Broadcasts

In certain cases Stream plays had been displayed in UTC rather than in the appropriate time zone configured to a Stream.

The “Caption” field will now display between brackets within the Recorded Content “Name” field when there is no “Name” to display.
