Voicetrack Fusion Updates

Week of:
February 10, 2025

We are happy to introduce new Voicetracking features based on your feedback. Voicetrack Fusion (VTF) seamlessly connects your Clocks, Voicetracks and Broadcasts in one platform. And now, you can choose between two Voicetracking modes: Genius Mode and Manual Mode.

Genius Mode

Genius Mode, available since the launch of VTF, makes recording Talk Breaks effortless. With Super Hi-Fi’s MagicStitch® AI, you no longer need to worry about segue timing—your Voicetracks will always fit perfectly. The MagicStitch AI automatically places your voice track and fully produces all of the elements of your segue, so you’ll always hit the post without any manual timing adjustments. By default, VTF runs in Genius Mode, so you are able to simply "Speak it – and forget it!"

Manual Mode

Manual Mode is now available in VTF, allowing you to talk over the music in the background and trigger the incoming song manually, so you can shape your performance in real time.

Follow these steps to use Manual Mode in Voicetrack Fusion:

  • Enable Manual Mode. Toggle to “Manual” in the bottom right corner. Make sure you’re using headphones and have the correct microphone selected.
  • Set Your Starting Point. The outgoing track’s waveform will appear in the Record Module, showing its Tail and End posts. Choose where to start your Voicetrack. If unsure, preview the track by clicking play on the tile in the carousel.
  • Start Recording. Click “Record.” A five-second audio run-off of the music track prior to the Post will play before your microphone activates.
  • Control Your Playback. Once recording begins, the Record button will show a play icon. Click it to start the incoming track at any time. If you need to stop or restart, use the Stop button.
  • Review & Proceed. After recording, click Stop to review and edit your Voicetrack, or click Next to move on to the next Voice Job.

New Voice Processing Modes

Voicetracking in Program Director now offers three post-processing modes in the Record Module of Voicetrack Fusion:

  • Voice Only (Default). Uses Super Hi-Fi’s Voice-IQ 2.0, an AI-powered mastering tool that enhances voice track quality for FM broadcast.
  • Voice + SFX. Uses VoiceIQ 2.0 but disables Noise Eraser, allowing background sounds and SFX to be included in your recording.
  • Voice + Music. Processes multi-channel audio, blending Voice, Music, and SFX seamlessly.

To select a mode, select one of the modes in the bottom left of the Record Module. Want to keep a preferred mode? Click the "Lock" button to make it the default for your session.

Voicetracking Hints

For Manual Mode, you’ll be able to hear the music and the transitions in realtime as you’re tracking. For best results, you’ll want individual control over the volume of your microphone and the music from your computer to ensure that you can hear your voice properly. In the event you don’t have a mixer available, there are some microphones which offer individual source control, such as the Shure MV7+. Of course the old “one ear on, one ear off” trick will work just as well.

Headphones

Any preferred headphones will work, but consider these factors:

  • Over-The-Ear Headphones – VTF does not return vocals to your headphones unless your mic has a headphone jack. To hear yourself better, try removing one ear cup while recording.
  • Earbuds – Generally, earbuds allow you to hear both your voice and the music track segue audio clearly.

Mixers

Whether using a virtual or physical mixer, you should be able to effectively monitor and balance your voice with the music track segue audio.

If you have any questions about these updates or the platform in general, we are always looking to hear from you. Your feedback is essential to providing you with an amazing experience.
